Playing through Marvel’s SpiderMan for the first time felt like a dream come true. Growing up, there were only two things that I cared about. Spiderman and video games. I loved the webhead from a young age. I watched all his movies, was obsessed with his cartoons, and even read some of his comics. Basically, Spiderman was my hero and I’m still invested in Peter Parker and his struggles to this very day. But if my love of SpiderMan was trumped by one thing, then that would be video games. Mainly, those made by Insomniac games. These guys ruled over my childhood and would go on to define what I look for in a game. The Ratchet and Clank games specifically are among some of my favourites of all time. So hearing that one of my favourite fictional characters was being tackled by one of my favourite developers felt like a match made in heaven. I waited eagerly for this game to come out, scouring every news source and interview I could just to get a glimpse at what Insomniac was cooking. So when the time came and the game was finally in my hands. It’s safe to say that I was excited.

And to no one’s surprise at all, I really liked it. I’d even go as far as to say that it was my game of the year for 2018. Though for as much as I enjoyed my time with the game, I never felt compelled to come back to it after that initial playthrough. I’ve always felt as though there was something off about the game and I couldn't quite put my finger on it at the time. However, I definitely wasn’t the only one to notice this since while the game did receive an overwhelmingly positive reception both critically and financially, it wasn’t without any catches. A trend that I noticed while looking at old reviews of this game is that while the coverage was generally positive, nearly every single one of them mentioned that this title lacked originality. It’s almost impossible to talk about this game without comparing it to the Batman Arkham series. I get that it’s a tired comparison to make, but there’s a lot to be said about how much influence the Arkham games had on the entire actionadventure genre. It’s easy to compare SpiderMan PS4 to the Batman games and see what exactly inspired certain elements. Not many people took issues with the inspiration, but the Arkham series influence was something that was brought up in nearly every single review of the game. Back in the day, I thought these people were just blowing smoke so I paid no attention to what they meant by this. With the release of SpiderMan 2 being just around the corner, my interest in these games were reignited. But it was upon doing a brand new playthrough of these games where I started to see where the critics were coming from. And once that clicked, everything began to make sense to me.

The Concerning Legacy of Marvel's SpiderMan. Marvel's SpiderMan, otherwise known as SpiderMan PS4 or Insomniac's SpiderMan is a very good game. In this SpiderMan PS4 Review, SpiderMan PS4 Analysis, SpiderMan PS4 Critique, I will be Reviewing Marvel's SpiderMan. Since Marvel's SpiderMan 2 is just around the corner, I wanted to revisit SpiderMan Remastered to see if it still held up. It does for the most part, but Marvel's SpiderMan has one big issue with it that'll stick with it for the rest of time and I hope SpiderMan 2 fixes this issue because my big problem is The Concerning Legacy of Marvel's SpiderMan. I compare SpiderMan PS4 to SpiderMan Web of Shadows and Ultimate SpiderMan so you should play those before watching this Marvel's SpiderMan Review, Marvel's SpiderMan Analysis, Marvel's SpiderMan Critique. I hope to eventually make a SpiderMan 2 Review, SpiderMan 2 Analysis, SpiderMan 2 Critique in the future. The Concerning Legacy of Marvel's SpiderMan is the best video by Nam's Compendium
