What are your favourite meals to eat when you have your period? I love warming curries or stews but I make sure to add plenty of iron & micronutrient rich foods to them to support my bleed! In today's video, I talk about what foods I focus on eating when I have my period :)
Eating in a way that supports your period might sound hard and confusing, but it's not! It's all about adding foods to your meals that make them more nutrient dense. For example, I like to base my meals around legumes like lentils and sprinkle a mix of seeds (sunflower & pumpkin) on top. This ensures I am getting lots of iron and zinc. Other additions would be adding seaweed flakes to your meal for iodine! So easy, right? You can use these tips all cycle long, but I want to focus on the menstrual phase today!
