The accessory every table saw should include

I recently replaced my 5hp 52" Delta Unisaw with the 36" SawStop Professional Table Saw, but was it worth it? I'll let you be the judge. My old table saw was great, but it had a lot of limitations to what I could do in my woodshop. I cut a lot of sheet goods and while having a 52" fence was great, I rarely used the cutting capacity of the saw because it was difficult to push large sheets without a SawStop slider. I also wanted a table saw where the table saw blade stops when touched.

I got the SawStop PCS with the slider attachment so I could easily push sheet goods across the table saw with a large miter fence. The quality and stability of the slider on the SawStop PCS is incredible. If I am cutting a 4x8 sheet on the table saw the most I typically would need to crosscut is 48", and now that I own a track saw I didn't feel I needed such a large cutting capacity.

As far as why I bought the SawStop: I have seen countless videos and stories of woodworkers who bought this saw when it was too late and they had a woodworking injury. I didn't want to make that video my most viewed video, so I bought this sooner than later. Plus, I want to have my kids help me more in the shop and I didn't feel comfortable letting them learn on a saw that didn't have some inherent safety features built into it.

I'll let the video tell the rest of the story, mainly because I'm not sure if anyone actually reads these descriptions. LOL!
