Tesla Swapped Squarebody Inverter u0026 Radiator Repair - Electric C10 Ep. 24

We're finally back on the Tesla swapped C10 Squarebody this week. We took some big steps forward and a tiny step back; but all in all, we made some good progress on the EV Chevy! The first order of business was getting the new inverter installed. Like we explained in previous episodes, our original front inverter wasn't functional, so Tim cracks open our remote inverter housing to get our Zero EV control board swapped over so we can have a functional front motor. Once it's bolted back into the truck, Andrew works his computer magic and gets the truck running in AWD. We just inched the EV C10 forward and backwards as a test because we still needed to get the cooling system functional. Part of having a working radiator is making sure it doesn't leak. So Mike pulled out the Mishimoto radiators and pressure tested them to find the pinholes that snuck their way into the brackets when we made some custom modifications. Tim got those all TIG'd up right in time to receive our Tesla charging station. If you're wondering how we were charging the truck before this, the answer is... we weren't. We've been running on the charge that came with our salvaged Model 3 battery pack this whole time. So to make sure this truck has some juice, we got on the phone with Ingenext and had them send over the CANBUS coding that enabled our electric truck to go into the proper charging mode. With a full battery, it was time to take it for a test drive. But as anyone who's built a custom vehicle knows, sometimes test drives don't always go as planned. The steering rack bracket on our C5 corvette subframe broke, meaning we couldn't safely drive the truck. But that's ok, because as we got the truck back on the lift, Jeff Gardner showed up to scan our truck to get our custom pushrod suspension in the works. Even though we couldn't go rip this truck like we wanted to today, with Jeff on board creating a whole new cantilever suspension system, we know that when this EV truck does hit the road again, it will be handling better than ever before!
