Taikura Kapa Haka brings together over 500 kaumātua (elders) from regional and maraebased rōpū (groups) throughout the motu (islands) during Matariki. The festival is a celebration of traditional performing arts and rich mātauranga (knowledge) that our koroua (male elders) and kuia (female elders) impart during their 20minute kapa haka (choreographed Māori performances).
