The Strasbourg Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Strasbourg, France. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Strasbourg and a national monument of France. The cathedral was built on a 4thcentury church site and was first mentioned in 742.

It was extensively remodeled in the 12th and 13th centuries and again in the 19th century. The cathedral is a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles. It is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is located in the city center, on the Grande Île (Grand Island), an island in the Ill River. It is the tallest building in Strasbourg and the fourth tallest cathedral in France, after Notre Dame de Paris, Amiens Cathedral, and Reims Cathedral.

The cathedral has two towers, each measuring 142 meters (466 feet). The south tower contains a carillon with 49 bells. The north tower holds a sizeable astronomical clock with an automated figure of Christ on the cross, which strikes the hours.

The cathedral is also home to a museum with a collection of paintings, sculptures, and other works of art. The cathedral is open to the public, and admission is free. Guided tours are available in several languages.
