Station Saturday - Firehouse 41

Follow
South Metro Fire Rescue Centennial, Colorado

Welcome to Station Saturday! Engineer Seth Fischer takes viewers on a tour of Firehouse 41 in Parker, Colorado.

Firehouse 41 was placed in service in 1980 as Parker Fire District Headquarters and Station 1. Several years later all of the neighboring fire districts decided on a standardized numbering system to alleviate the confusion of each agency operating a "Station 1." At that time Parker Fire District was given the 70 series and this Station was numbered as 71.

Parker Fire Headquarters moved to a stand alone office building in the early 2000's and the firehouse was remodeled to better accommodate the firefighting crew. Parker Fire District merged with South Metro Fire Rescue in 2008 and this firehouse was renumbered 41, falling in sequential order with already existing South Metro facilities.

Today, Firehouse 41 serves as the hub for the 4th Battalion and is designated as a specialized Wildland Firefighting Station. The first due area includes dense suburban neighborhoods and multifamily complexes, commercial, retail and rural unhydranted areas in the wildland urban interface.
