Bol Gai Deng is a human rights activist, author, and former child slave from South Sudan, now living in Richmond, Virginia. Almost all of Deng’s life was shaped by the tumult of wartorn Sudan, but he hopes to change that and become a champion for stability in South Sudan as the next democratically elected president. VOA’s Esther GithuiEwart spoke to Bol Gai Deng live on the set of Africa 54.
