Crating a thousand pound wagon wheel for truck shipping is definitely a challenging venture. For reasons I explain, I decided to ship this wheel vertical instead of horizontal. So I need to create a crate that will maintain its vertical integrity, and protect it while being transferred by multiple forklift drivers as it travels across the country from Montana to Virginia. This is designing and building as I go, with no real beginning plans, but knowing it has to survive rough handling.
