Snowy owls are an iconic species of the Arctic. Animal world of the Arctic. Birds of prey. Snowy owl on the nest, parenting behavior, animal sounds. Snowy owl (named Bibi) nest. She nested in the Arctic in year with a high number of lemmings in the tundra. A couple of months ago, she laid 5 small eggs. Time goes fast. She is surrounded by five big owlets now. One more month and they will fly. But now the growing chicks need a lot of food. There are four younger chicks in the nest. Bibi returns to the nest with a large lemming to feed the chicks. One of them tries to swallow it. Unsuccessfully. This lemming is really big to swallow it whole. Mom picks up the lemming and shrinks its size feeding the chicks. The owlet then swallows the prey with ease.... Somebody didn't have enough to eat this time. But that's okay. Dad gets enough food for the whole family.
