Sloths sleep 15 hours a day. And even when they are awake, they move very slowly and only when necessary (hence the name).

In the wild, sloths can become the prey of many hunters, but this does not happen so often, due to the fact that these animals spend most of their time in trees, where it is quite difficult to catch them. A sloth moves on average at a speed of 2 meters in just one minute. The secret of the slowness of sloths is that they need to save their energy, since the basis of their nutrition is plant food, from which they do not get the substances they need. You can see bluegreen algae growing on the fur of some sloths. These organisms absolutely do not interfere with sloths, and on the contrary, they are their camouflage. The only reason sloths come down from trees is to relieve themselves only once every 57 days.
