Strong Southerly Winds Carried The Orangeybrown Dust From The Sahara Region Over Much Of Southern And Central Greece, Imposing A Carroty Filter Over Athens Particularly In The Last Hours Of Daylight.

A Shift In Winds Forecast For Wednesday Is Expected To Start Clearing Greek Skies And Bring A Dip In Temperatures, Which In Parts Of The Southern Island Of Crete Tuesday Exceeded 30 Degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit). That's More Than 20 Degrees Celsius Higher Than Was Registered In Much Of Northern Greece.
