Selfadjusting ROSTA Tensioner

The ROSTA Tensioners operate by a rubber torsional spring with four pretensioned special rubber inserts. The pivoting arm dampens shock loads, vibrations and provides a constant tension to the drivetrain. Vibrations or bouncing off due to lengthening are no longer an issue with the selfadjusting ROSTA Tensioners! The selfadjusting ROSTA Tensioners offer a smooth and quiet operation. The single bolt feature offers an easy installation and adjustment. The ingenious concept compensates stretch and dampens vibrations automatically. Which results in longer service life of the drivetrain. Downtime and maintenance costs are kept to a minimum.
Selfadjusting ROSTA Chain Tensioner
They should always be mounted on the slack side of the chain drive. The tensioner arm should stay close to parallel to the strand, in the running direction. The simple installation is made by one central bolt. This allows a flexible positioning. Only one hole in the framework is needed. The sprocket wheel set is easy adjustable. Position the wrench close to the flangebottom and rotate the housing, bringing the sprocket wheel into mesh. Set the pretension to approx. 15°. There is also a front mounting option available. This design allows a simple and easy tightening from the front. The final adjustment of the tension is based on the running behavior of the chain. If excessive vibration are noticed, simply increase or decrease the tension until you obtain a smooth run. As an alternative to the sprocket wheels you can also use ROSTA chain riders.

Selfadjusting ROSTA Vbelt Tensioner
The preferred location of a Vbelt tensioner is on the inside of the belt drive on the slack side. The tensioner arm should stay close to parallel to the strand, in the running direction. The simple installation is made with one central bolt. Either back or front mounted options are available. Position the wrench close to the flangebottom and rotate the housing. Set the pretension to approx. 15°. Check for proper tension based on the belt manufactures guidelines. Simply rotate the housing until you obtain the right tension. The ROSTA tensioners automatically compensates belt elongations, hence there is no need for regular retensioning. Overtensioning of the belts is avoided and drive operating efficiency is enhanced. The belts can be replaced in moments without special skills and tools. A smooth and quiet operation by reducing slippage and overheating is assured. Pulley and belt life is significant enhanced. Tensioning outside of the belt is done with a ROSTA tensioning roller which dampens vibrations efficiently. The increased arc of contact prevents slippage to ensure an efficient power transmission. Any other special accessories can easily be mounted on the tensioning arm.
ROSTA offer a wide range of Selftensioning chain and Belt tensioners including different accessories. ROSTA belt tensioners for a smooth run longer service life less maintenance cost saving.
