Severe Storms u0026 Power Outage

Henry Briest

The storms began rolling in around 7:30pm on Sunday night. The power flashed for about ten seconds around 9:00. It was no big deal, it was just long enough to have to reset the digital clocks. Come 9:30, the weather radio (Midland WR120) activates for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning (SVR). Golf ballsize hail was the main threat with that storm. At around 10:15pm, large hail begins falling and the weather radio goes off again for another SVR. After that, the storm subsides and moves away. It's not until about 12:45am, the next day, that the weather radio sounds off for another SVR. More SVRs are issued over the next hour as there are frequent lightning strikes and loud cracks of thunder. Around 1:45am, the power goes out again. Around the same time, a Flash Flood Warning (FFW) was issued due to the torrential rainfall that was occurring with the storms. The final storm ends around 4:00am, and the power comes back on at about 8:45am that morning.
