As full time RVers, we knew our new to us 2017 Grand Design Solitude 310 GK needs regular maintenance. And the water heater is definitely one of those musts. With all the other issues we have been fixing (DIYs and stuff breaking) and the fun we have had we let this one wait a bit too long. Plus, Larry always has to "reinvent the wheel." haha. But you know he tries to make life just a bit easier and save you some money.

In this video, you will see a tweak to the "tried and true" way to descale your water heater tank that is easy to do and inexpensive. This procedure will work with any Suburban RV Water Heater with a replaceable Anode. It can be done with any RV plumbing system, even though we have the Nautilus Water Management System, you can use this method with any Suburban RV Water Heater.

Shut down heater and preparation 3:53
Remove the Anode Rod 4:50
Drain and Flush the tank 5:45
Assemble and attach Custom Vinegar Fill pipe and Funnel 7:05
Add 6 gallons of White Distilled Vinegar 7:54
Fill tank to the top with Water from Nautilus System 9:00
Allow the Vinegar to Soak in the Tank overnight (anode in cup) 9:52
Drain the vinegar solution from the tank the next morning 10:08
ReFlush the tank with the Camco Cleaning Wand 10:48
Tank inspection for remaining deposits 11:06
Install a new Anode rod into the tank using teflon tape & 11/16 socket 11:27
Refill the water tank 13:00
Turn the water heater back on 13:43
