Rusty Old Axe Restoration and Replace the Handle with Jackfruit Wood | Full Restoration #restoration #asmr

Hi everyone, today we will restore old axe.

This axe is often used by my father when he works to cut the bones of cows or goats during Muslim holidays in Indonesia. however, this axe was not used until it rusted in the warehouse. I think that this axe must be restored so that my father can work with this ax again as before which is still good. I got this axe with the wooden handle wet and weathered with age.

For the handle of the axe, I replaced it with jackfruit wood, which is very good / hard wood and classified as termiteresistant wood, so I used this wood and made the handle look like the original, then I gave the jackfruit wood a woodstain from propan to make it shiny and look like the original wood grain and don't forget that I gave a red accent using car paint (PU) which dries quickly so I can apply up to 3 coats.

For the iron part of the axe, I soaked it in a rust remover liquid called Rustbuster Ranex Bondall for 24 hours, and the results were very satisfactory with the surface of the axe being very rough. I also gave this axe a bluing liquid and then I sanded it using grit 1000 so that an abstract black texture appeared as I wanted.

From all of this I found it difficult when I formed the handle of the axe, because this would be easy to shape using a bandsaw but I don't have the machine yet so I shaped it manually with a hand saw and chisel little by little then sanded. and I encountered difficulties when I sharpened the ax to find the right angle because I didn't have the right sharpening tool yet, but I have another way by making a plastic pipe and an iron bar post and this works but I still feel movement when shifting the mini grinding machine.

Apologize if my English poorly, because this is not my main language.
