Hello there! Are you wondering if you should take a project management certification? How to get project management education? What's the value in project manager certs like the CAPM or PMP and what does the career trajectory for these certifications and roles look like? If so, then consider watching this video where I explain:
1. If you are brandnew to project management and know nothing about project management, what are your options to learn about being a PM without needing to take a PMI certification. In this case you could take the google project management certification offered via coursera that actually teaches you about being a PM.
2. If you are a new PM or have under 3 years of experience, then you are eligible for an entry level PMI certification like the CAPM or DASM if you would rather be an agile scrum master.
3. If you have at least 3 years of work experience or a masters and 2 years, then you are eligible for the PMP, or project management professional.
4. If you are a program manager or looking to become a program manager, then there is also the PgMP or program management professional certification. The education and experience requirements are much bigger than the CAPM or PMP.
