Sympathetic nervous system is fight and flight, it supplies you with what you need to survive. The sympathetic stimulates beta2adrenergic receptors in your heart (β1) and your bronchi (β2) to increase the heart rate and cause bronchodilation respectively.
The parasympathetic nervous system is the opposite: rest and digest. It stimulates muscarinic receptors such as the M3 receptors in your bronchi leading to increased secretion and bronchoconstriction.
