Tourists on a game drive in Ol Kinyei Conservancy sighted a lone, days' old, baby elephant, wandering close to a pride of lions. They raised the alarm and a team from Porini Cheetah Lodge went to investigate. They found the calf, and shortly thereafter a lactating female elephant was found dead close by.

An easy target for predators and in need of milk to survive, a rescue was mounted and the calf was brought into the care of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. This film tells the story of the calf, who has been named Kinyei, in homage to her place of rescue.
