This machine was due to fail, as it has had a bad bearing for some time, making loads of unpleasant noise.
We keep it out in the shed so the noise is not a problem. We have been leaving until it needed to be fixed. So with the bearings now compleatly distroyed on will chance changing them, as it's hit or miss if the drum will seal up again. If this fails I will simply replace it.
The drum on modern machines are not designed to be serviced. They are sealed units that are now glued shut.
The only way to access the bearings is to cut open the drum and use a silicon sealant and bolts to close it again.
The quickest and easiest way to open the drum is with a good hand saw.
