Annie shared these words about auditioning at the 2023 ProSkaters event:

"I had the best time at the ProSkaters event! I am a competitive dancer from a studio in Ohio and here is the scoop on my figure skating. I started at age 6 and then stopped at age 12. Figure skating was my first opportunity to perform while learning jumps, spins and choreography. I loved it. At age 9, I also started competitive dance including ballroom. This was the start of a new aspiration for me to become a dancer. A lot of things happened and I decided to only focus on dance. Fast forward to last year, I was quite adamant to ice skate again, and in January of this year, I connected with my old ice dance coach and started taking lessons again! So back in March at ProSkaters, I had only been back on the ice for about 9 weeks after a 5 year break. The routine I skated was a dance solo from a previous year. This was put together in 4 hours the week before I came down to the ProSkaters event.

My dance has helped me learn how express movement and emotion in front an audience and it really helped me discover a new perspective and enjoyment for ice skating which was my first passion. So when I skated “Recovery,” it was a special moment and feeling on ice that I never thought I would experience again after many years off which was very refreshing and so memorable! I’m working on getting my skating legs back along with my jumps and spins. I am very excited to continue to perform not only on stage but on the ice!
