The Great Central Railway ran its first passenger trains in preservation fifty years ago this month. We're bring you four short films in the lead up to our grand anniversary gala on the 17th and 18th of June.

Here we delve back into the archive and remember those very early days and celebrate how far we have come with your help.

Part one is set at Loughborough Central station in the company of David Putt. Just a school boy when British Rail closed the line in 1969, he's been volunteering at the reborn GCR ever since.
