Installing the Onan Cummins 01552449 Resonator on a 2500/2800 generator is a quick and easy way to quiet down the exhaust tone.
When listening to the sound at a perpendicular angle to the exhaust, there's sound reduction isn't as noticeable as when you are directly facing the exhaust.

The HGLAA inverter generator I have is significantly quieter than the HGJBB non inverter generator it replaced, but this resonator helped quiet it further.
