QWF is a queer unapologetic fun scifi mockumentary series. Set in 2038, a rescue team of illegal queers work diligently to save fellow community members before the government can erase them. Living in underground bunkers, fighting drones, and eating vegan chicken nuggets the queer community finds itself confronting not only the world outside, but each other.

What Makes it Unique?
This show features no rape, drug usage, addiction, infidelity, sexual engagements of any kind. It's punk in it's execution and doesn't fetishize the typical exploitation of our bodies. We wanted to create content like this because almost everything that currently exists uses these elements to sell our stories. The truth is there's more to our existence than tragedy.

One of the greatest queer social experiments in immersive theatre this show's also is almost completely unscripted. We mixed a handful of actors into groups of people who have never performed before. We had one rule speak your mind on your terms. Whenever and whatever you want. What resulted was a series of conversations that rarely take place in person within our community. Topics about intersectionality, identity, and deep inner honesties stormed the camera in an incredible display of truth.

Using a single camera, no audio equipment or film crew the style of this shoot was intentionally minimalistic to create a safe space for people to be themselves instead of what they think others may want them to be on screen.

We shot this way so that every voice is authentic and not washed over by a writer who doesn't share the character's lived experiences.

We will never reveal who was acting and who was real. We will leave that to those who participated to share if they feel safe doing so. Upon the publishing of episode cast members will comment further. You're just gonna have to watch!

IT'S NOT JUST A SERIES

Every week we will be posting not just an episode, but also a series of interviews and footage. When we created this project it was important that it wasn't just a show but that it was also a community.

Every interview is shot in character, mixing both the person's real lived experiences with an assessment of the events that unfolded in the episode. There are also videos explaining how the science, politics, and history function in this series. We decided to create a Youtube WORLD instead of a channel so you can go beyond the storyline and explore deeper.
