Put This GOOP On SCREWDRIVERS + SCREWS...Never Strip A Screw Again!! (Stripped Screw Preventer!)

Every DIYer tends to strip screws on accident. I had never tried strip preventer products before, but DAP sent me out their Liquid Bond gel. I tested it out on a few drill bits, screwdrivers and screws, and I was amazed at how well it works.

DAP IS NOT MY SPONSOR! THEY SENT ME NOTHING BUT THE PRODUCT...and it sat on my shelf for about 6 months. I'm glad I tried it though!

Strip preventers are a combination of polyvinyl alcohol and mineral filler. They kind of look like tiny metal slivers suspended in gel.

You can apply strip preventers to either the screw/driver bit, or the screw head itself.

The mineral grit in the fluid fills in gaps between the screwdriver bit and the slots in the fastener head. The CREATES MORE TRACTION between the bit and the fastener.

This traction prevents the driver bit from CAMMING OUT.

Camout is what happens when turning force overwhelms the grip between the fastener and drill bit, and the bit slip out of the head. Doing this repeatedly can strip the fastener head slotsespecially in delicate screws/specialty screws!

It's best to apply a strip preventer BEFORE you try turning a delicate or important fastener. But, they're also helpful in getting more traction in a partially stripped screw head. I reamed out a couple screws (torx, square, phillips), and was still able to turn them with the strip preventer.

When you're done, just wipe off the tool bits and fastenerand try no to get the product on your hands!
