We've been wanting to put a Purple Martin House or Gourds up at our place for 3 or 4 years. This year we did extra research and found out for Upstate, SC 8a/7b you need to put up new houses MidMarch. We purchased a house and then bought a 20' Aluminum pole/pipe off Marketplace. Checkout how we modified the house and custom mounted it to the pole.

A dream that has grown for generations. Our families have farmed or gardened in SC since the 1700’s. Dean Family Acres was established in 2013 and expanded in 2016, we strive to be “Real People, Real Homesteading.” We are on 5 acres in the Upstate of SC, zone 8a where we garden, feed chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits and Boer meat goats.
