If you plan on creating YouTube videos in multiple languages, then you need to think about which YouTube channel model to follow.

The right model for you will vary depending on your needs and the resources you can realistically spend looking after your YouTube channels.

This video will look at three different channel models and their pros and cons, to help you decide which is the best one for you.

The first option is to have one channel on which you host all your videos, including those in different languages.

This model is a good option if audiences in different markets use the same search terms, such as branded keywords.

Another advantage is that branding and tone are more easily managed, because they’re consistent across regions.

Also, viewership and subscriber numbers are concentrated on one channel, and since there’s only one, it’s easy for users to find you.

However, there is the obvious problem that viewers might become confused and engagement could be low because the videos are in different languages, meaning that not all videos will be relevant to any single user.

To solve this problem, consider adding subtitles and captions to your videos to make them more appealing to a wider audience.

You could also consider creating sections or playlists for each target market or language.

A second option is to create one channel per language.

This is a good option if audiences in different markets use different search terms, i.e. nonbranded keywords.

Each channel and its messaging can be customised to appeal to each local market, which should lead to increased engagement from your target audience.

However, viewership and subscriber numbers will be divided between the different channels and therefore lower.

Also, each channel will require separate work and resources, and since there are multiple channels, it could be more difficult for users to find the right one.

A third option is to create one global channel and separate local channels for local markets.

With this model, global campaigns as well as campaigns in the brand’s main language go on the main global channel.

Local content is also produced specifically for each target market, which goes on the local channels.

This allows you to get the advantages of both the single channel and local channel models.

However, this is also the most resourceintensive model because you have to employ both a global and a local strategy.
