Do you find probiotics confusing? Even healthcare professionals get a little bit lost in this huge world of probiotics! Go into any grocery store or any drug store and we have all of these different options. We know that probiotics can be good for us but which ones are best and for what condition? As a pharmacist, I have always recommended that patients take probiotics while they're taking a course of antibiotics, and for some other indications, but the world of probiotics has grown so quickly, how can we keep up with the scientific evidence behind these products?

There are so many questions that Dragana helps us answer in this interview, including: How probiotics work, what is the definition of a probiotic, are more strains better, are probiotics that are refrigerated of higher quality, can probiotics interact with food or with medications? How do we know what strains are better for different disease states?
