This is the first disabilityfocused song I ever wrote. It's a song of pride, of inclusion, of accepting everything about myself. It's a song about acknowledging that disability is just one part of me, just as big and just as small as any other part.
I am pretty and marvelous. They are parts of me. I am mentally ill and disabled. They are just more parts of me. Not insults, not putdowns, just descriptions of some of the pieces that make up who I am.
Lyrics and melody by Nell Tyler
Piano arrangement written and performed by Sandra Kwa
Recorded at EMG Music Studios
(not mixed or mastered because I couldn't afford it, not this time anyway!)
