You check in at a motel at the end of the world and then the horror unfolds. that is the basic story of a really short game for a horror gamejam.
The backdrops are AI art with some pixels overpainted, just look at the bathroom, the toiletpaper is there but at the other end of the room from the toilet, great planning only a machine would do. When compared to the overpainted parts like the corner of the rug with the backdrops you see the difference in artstyle. And the mixed pixel resolution is also tellingabout this. But those generated artworks make a moody game, the developers still have to program all this and I am not sure how far machine learning image generators can help you with making a pixelart character walkcycle. Still I don't get why the makes of the game don't mention the involvement of some text to image tool at all, that would only be fair.
But enough of that, let me mention the music and it is really moody and good. There are not many puzzles in the game, I discovered the escape route before needing it, but when you are stressed this might be harder to do. The rest of the story is very cliche and the end is just weird and confusing.
But the part where you flee from the killer is really really scary, I totally liked that so the game appears here, well done for a scream jam game.
