Sam spends an enjoyable day tramping up to the Pearse Resurgence. A truely stunning river valley located near the base of Mt Arthur in the Tasman area of New Zealand.

This valley is home to Whio (blue duck), a rare river duck endemic to New Zealand along with a crystal clear (and cold) river water, underwater caves and onga onga, a native nettle that packs a nasty sting.

This trip invovles multiple river crossings so only attempt in good weather and allow around 34 hours for the return trip with a bit of time to explore.
