Three astronomers go in search of a meteorite that fell somewhere in the British wilderness. Soon they find out that the visitor from outer space is not a meteorite, but an alien ship and a harbinger of an alien invasion. Friends find themselves in the epicenter of hostilities, where on the one hand — the Earth troops, and on the other — the fighting machines of the Martians.
