Jose Samano faced a dire situation with a severe foot infection and peripheral vascular disease which led multiple surgeons to suggest leg amputation. However, Dr. Tyler Coye, a foot surgeon at Baylor Medicine specializing in limb salvage, saw the potential to save Samano's leg. Through rigorous treatment including surgeries, wound care and followup appointments, Coye successfully removed the infection and reconstructed the foot with unique graft materials to facilitate healing. Samano, now able to walk on the leg that was nearly amputated, and his wife express profound gratitude towards Dr. Coye for his expertise and compassionate care throughout the challenging process.
