Pathfinder (R51)- Fail. Doesn't make it up.

Happened at Rowher at trail called "Lookout" just past staging area 1 on the left. I googled "easy offroad place near me" and that's where it led me to. Didn't feel very easy at all slipping around in 4Lo!

Almost made it up in a 2011 Pathfinder. Got so close but right after I mentioned that "I should have aired down the tires", it got stuck and wouldn't go up any further. I didn't keep gassing it since I could tell instantly no forward progress was being made and I didn't want to risk damage to my daily driver.

I didn't air down the tires before this attempt. This was my first time trying something this steep so I wanted to see what it could do. I backed down that slope in reverse, not the funnest thing in the world, I then let out 10 lbs of pressure from each tire and tried it again. It made it up without much issue the second attempt. I could still feel it slip and the ABLS breaking system kicking in to help lock the spinning wheels. "slip" light came on the dash during the assent.

Thought I really messed up my transmission or the 4x4 system attempting this climb. I put it back in 2 wheel drive and the 4x4 dash indicator was flashing. From what I can tell, it does that if the 4x4 hasn't completely engaged or in this case disengaged. Put it back in neutral and let it roll a little and the flashing went away after messing with the 4x4 dial some more.

Interesting note, my tire pressure dash warning light was on solid all the way from my home to the trail, indicating a fault in the system. I checked the pressure and all tires were good at 35lbs. I noticed after I left the trail for the day, the tire pressure light was off on the dashboard. Not sure what turned it off but perhaps airing down and back up did it or the rough terrain knocked a loose battery back into place perhaps.
