Packing for Iceland can be tricky. It's a place where the weather changes constantly and the wind and rain can kind of batter you. But, I think that the trick in packing for Iceland is to think in layers. Bring normal clothing for your inner wear, and then pack wind and rain proof stuff for your outer wear.
The packing tips for Iceland that are the most important are the ones that teach you how to keep dry. And, not only your person but your camera gear. Bringing shower caps, for example, can keep water off of your camera. And, bringing a rain guard for your backpack can also keep it dry.
Other packing tips for Iceland include bringing rubber boots to keep your feet dry. Especially as a photographer, you're going to be in wet grasses and maybe in creeks a lot. So, you are going to want to keep your feet dry. To keep them warm, also bring warm socks; and lots of them. You'll burn through socks like crazy in Iceland, so pack more than you think you'll need.
When packing for Iceland as a photographer, you also have to think about lenses. I'd recommend bringing a wide angle, a telephoto, and a lens fast enough for shooting starts.
Photography in Iceland is a lot of fun. But, it can be a mission because of the weather. And, the gear you bring doesn't really matter as much as keeping it dry and safe.
This is the first vlog from Iceland, there will be more to come; 8 to be exact. So, stay tuned to the channel for more fun from Iceland.
