COWBOY WOLF is a 1959 American Western film directed by Richard Fleischer, featuring a cast including Don Murray, Richard Egan, Lee Remick, Stuart Whitman, and Patricia Owens. The story revolves around Albert Gallatin "Lat" Evans (Don Murray), a young cowboy determined to improve his circumstances. He secures a job on a cattle drive after taming a wild horse, nurturing dreams of ranch ownership and wealth, in contrast to his father's struggles.

During a stop in a Wyoming town, Lat engages in a horse race initiated by the dubious rancher Jehu (Richard Egan). Despite initially leading, Lat falls due to foul play but is declared the winner by Marshal Conrad (Albert Dekker). Subsequently, Lat and his friend Tom (Stuart Whitman) celebrate at the saloon with women, including Callie (Lee Remick), whose empathy for Lat's past resonates with him.

Driven by ambition, Lat seeks financial backing from Conrad to purchase land and cattle, eventually thriving while others falter. However, his growing success strains his relationships, particularly with Callie, whom he forsakes for Conrad's niece, Joyce (Patricia Owens).
