Description: Since eastern coyotes first arrived in Vermont in the 1940s, they have steadily expanded until today they are found in almost every corner of every town in the state. Hated for preying on deer, pets and livestock, and generally treated like vermin, coyotes have also proven to be remarkably adaptable and resilient, and they have slowly gained the respect of many Vermonters, including a small but growing corps of dedicated coyote hunters.
