I travelled to Chicago in 1995 to interview the Queen of Talk herself. I loved this conversation for many reasons, not the least of which was Oprah's quote about giving back. It resonated profoundly for me, and became the foundation of my belief that life is richer and easier when we focus on contribution rather than performance.
