Today is the day that the cygnets ventured out onto the brook. They have been raised in the aviary by our brilliant wardens after their dad passed away just days before they were due to hatch.

A few days before the black swan cygnets were due to hatch, their dad was killed by a dog so they eggs had to be incubated as the mother couldn't nest on her own.

The Dawlish Waterfowl wardens have done an exceptional job in rearing and nurturing these young black swans.
