The Need: A cheese manufacturer needed to stack and transport heavy totes to cold room storage. The 2000 lb. cardboard totes needed to be stacked but did not have any grab points to allow for easy lifting and stacking.

The Solution: Omni Metalcraft Corp. provided a Hydraulic Tote Stacker with a traversing carriage. The carriage was equipped with separately traversing forks, which allowed increased flexibility in grabbing the totes without damaging them. The forks were also set at a slight angle to allow the totes to be stacked more easily. The system involved a Turntable with 4 Strand Modular Plastic Belt that would convey the tote out to allow a second to be received and lifted. Once both totes we stacked successfully they would convey out to cold storage.
