The Ocicat is the only spotted domestic breed selectively bred to emulate cats of the wild.


This muscular, athletic breed can be trained to play fetch and walk on a leash. A peopledevoted feline, the Ocicat loves companionship and doesn’t like being left alone too long. This cat does well with other cats and catfriendly dogs. A healthy breed, the Ocicat may live to be 15 to 18 years old. The devoted and playful Ocicat loves people and will trail their footsteps through the house or ride on a shoulder. Guests are welcomed by this generally social cat as new opportunities for petting or lap sitting.

Ocicats don’t even mind being carried around as long as they are with you. As with any animal, they come in a range of personalities, so some are shyer than others. Favorite activities include retrieving toys and learning to walk on a leash. Ocicats are highly intelligent and learn tricks easily. Puzzle toys are a good way to keep them occupied and entertained. Carefully put away anything you don’t want him to have. He is perfectly capable of figuring out how to open doors or undo latches.

His Siamese ancestors bequeathed the Ocicat a tendency to be vocal, but he is not as loud or as demanding. He is sensitive and will respond to nothing more than a verbal correction. Although the Ocicat is adaptable, he doesn’t like being left alone. Be sure he has another cat or dog as a companion if you aren’t home during the day. These wonderful cats are bred to look very, very wild, but never come with unpredictable, wild behavior. These beautiful cats provide the joy of being able to watch a wildlooking catwalk through your house. That's wildlooking without wild cat mixed in to make that look. At the same time, they are fully domestic interactive, playful friends who meet you at the door and participate in whatever activity engages you at any particular moment.

They are indoor only and, in general, they are very social and do best when sharing their home with another cat. Even though their kittens are from the top lines, they try to keep their kitten sale prices as reasonable as possible. This should allow new owners to come here for their kittens unless they happen to be attending a show in the right area. Their goal is to find wonderful forever homes for each of their babies. Their Ocicat kittens will already be neutered and spayed and have their first two core vaccinations.

These expenses will be included in any prices that they offer. Most kittens will be ready for new homes between 3 1/2 and 4 months of age. Occasionally, they have beautiful adults that become available to special homes. These are adults who have completed their show and parenting careers. Each individual is a jewel to be cherished.
