Chubachus

A collection of daguerreotype portraits of carpenters, sailors, shopkeepers, drivers, clergymen, chemists, and people from other professions wearing their works clothing and posing with the tools of their trades in the 1840's and 1850's. All were probably taken in the United States and some were partially colorized by the original photographer or his assistant.
