Originally a dark share house with no common spaces, this 18thcentury Parisian apartment was completely transformed by architect Taïna Pichon of Meraki Architecture to maximise both space and light. Knocking down all the internal walls and completely rearranging the floorplan, Pichon created a new bathroom, kitchen, and comfortable living room. The strategic use of glass panels between the dining room and bedroom allows the entire apartment to be flooded with natural light from the living room’s large windows. The client’s cherished record collection holds focus in the living room, as well as a muted orange terracottacoloured feature wall in the bedroom, adding depth to the apartment. Pichon’s commitment to simplicity and to using only a few natural materials has created a neutral, flexible space with vintage touches that add personality throughout.
