We have an updated version of this video for 2021 at:    • Mobile Internet for RVers, Cruisers &...

Internet access is almost as essential as water, power and sewer access for RVers and cruisers, some would even say it's more essential. Internet is an amenity that is vital in keeping in touch with loved ones, networking with new friends, travel routing, remote banking, entertainment and even running businesses while being mobile.

This 16minute video and our overview article (www.mobileinternetinfo.com/overview kept up to date) is a quick overview of the options. From cellular, public WiFi, satellite and signal enhancing. This is an older overview video, created in March 2018.

The options for keeping online while traveling the US are substantially different than those available while living in a fixed location.
It is not going to be anywhere near as easy as just "plugging in" like you might have once done in your fixed home.

On the road, you will be battling:
Intermittent and variable connections.
Varying speeds – from frustratingly slow to blazing fast.
Bandwidth cap limitations on how much data you can use.

Each individual solution has its pros and cons, and will be more ideal in some locations than in others. And there are no easy universal answers. Your ideal setup is going to be very personalized and dependent upon several factors including:

How important is the internet to you?
How much internet data do you need?
How many devices do you need to keep online?
What is your style of travel?
What plans and devices do you have now?
Your budget?
