Many residents in the impoverished Kenyan village of Nyang oma Kogelo share a unique claim to fame: they 're related to the man who may be America s first black president Barack Obama.
Obama 's father left Nyang oma Kogelo to study in America. Following his separation from Obama 's mother, he had several more children. "I know most Kenyans will be so uplifting because he is originally from here ," states Obama' s cousin. The village has named the local school after its most famous son.
