Today, Mauri received a special package. Who is Mauri, you ask? Well, he is a tortoise, and this package comes from an online store specializing in reptile supplies. We ordered a few essentials for taking care of our tortoise. But before we dive in, let's open this box!

Look at this, it's packed really well, lots of paper for cushioning. I wonder what's inside?

First up, we have the basic food for a land tortoise. It consists of meadow hay, leafy greens, and herbs from the alpine meadows. It's crucial that the food is high in fiber but low in energy and protein.

Interestingly, I didn't actually order this – they've added a little extra. But no worries, Mauri isn't allowed to eat this bonus treat.

I also ordered a new type of heat lamp because the old spotlight lamp wasn't providing even lighting. This flood lamp will probably do a better job, although I might need to adjust the height.

This bricklike object is coconut husk. I ordered it as an experiment. It's supposedly great for burrowing material; caves won't collapse.

And what do we have here? It's quite large and heavy. It's a new cave. Mauri has grown, and a few times, he got stuck in his old cave. We've enlarged the cave entrance, but we can't make the ceiling any higher. So, here's Mauri's brand new cave!

Of course, we need to see what Mauri thinks of his new cave. Since he is currently out for a walk, let's place the cave on the floor and see how it goes!

The cave has received his approval! We'll need to give it a good clean and set it up in the terrarium.
