Marlin Crawler Inchworm Taco Box info and quick demo

Hey and thanks for checking out my video! here is a quick little demo of the Marlin Crawler Taco Box I just installed. My crawl box is a bit of a hybrid from Marlin with an Inchworm case and adaptors and Marlin gears so I call it a Marlin Inchworm Taco Box.

Here I demo each of the gears from the FJ transfer case and the crawl box and then climb about an 18" ledge at idle to showcase the torque and traction provided by the crawl box.

Mini wall climb at 5:45

I did the install myself with the help of my dad at his shop in NC in March 2020. It was laborintensive, but not terribly difficult to accomplish. It took a total of 2.5 days from the time the first wrench hit the truck to the time we called it done but could have been accomplished about a day sooner if we hadn't also been installing a heavy flywheel, performance clutch, and internal hydraulic slave cylinder. Overall, I freaking love having a crawl box and, after as much use as it gets, wouldn't go without it!

Total, the truck now has 28 gear options, 4 reverse speeds, and 24 forward and gear ratios of 1:1, 2.56:1, 4.7:1, and 12:1 an the transfer case. And many inbetween combinations of ratios by selecting a different gear at the transmission. The current overall crawl ratio is 186.6:1 at the wheels with plans to improve that up to 215:1 in the future by regearing the differentials to 4.30 from the factory 3.73.
