Making an Extendable Camera Arm - DIY Overhead Camera Rig

Follow
The Practical Engineer

For a very long time I’ve had the idea to make some sort of roof mounted overhead camera rig to improve the filming in my workshop. (I’m constantly tripping over my tripod..) And I finally decided to go for it and I made this extendable camera arm that mounts to the ceiling of my workshop. On one slide the camera arm covers roughly half my workshop so I will add a second slide for the camera arm to get full coverage and I can get rid of my tripod in the workshop. What’s cool is that my old manfrotto ball head mounts on it to give my camera a full range. For a very long time I’ve had the idea to make some sort of roof mounted overhead camera rig to improve the filming in my workshop.
