Today 4 year old Susie is showing us how to make 5 minute ice cream without an ice cream machine.

Making ice cream at home can seem like a daunting task, expecially if you are considering buying an expensive ice cream machine. If you're looking for a fun activity to do with kids, consider using one of two methods in this video.

In the first method, Susie shows kids how to make ice cream with nothing more than two zip baggies, ice, and regular table salt. We used 4 cups of ice and half a cup of table salt in the larger bag, added the ice cream mixture to the smaller bag, tossed it around for 5 minutes and then let it sit in the freezer for a few more minutes.

In the second method, Susie demos a really cool, and kid friendly, personal ice cream maker from Zoku.

The recipe for the ice cream:
1.5 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream (we whipped ours with a mixer first, but you don't have to)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
