Luna and Remington Finally Arrive At Their Forever Home

Tigers Luna and Remington have finally found freedom at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, their forever home.

We would like to introduce our newest animal residents Luna and Remington. These two beautiful tigers have been in a rescue holding pattern for almost three years. They were originally from Dade City Wild Things in Florida, where they were part of a paytoplay cub petting scheme.

These two sweet tigers were forced to swim with visitors for money. When PETA filed charges against Dade City Wild Things and the court ordered a site inspection Luna, Remington, and all the other tigers were shipped off in the night to other facilities. Four tigers went to the facility we rescued them from in Florida and 19 others went to Oklahoma (Where a pregnant tiger gave birth during transport and her 3 cubs died from the heat).

For three years PETA fought in court to get Luna, Remington and two other tigers to their forever home with us. Sadly, two tigers Rory and Rajah did not make it until rescue, reportedly during a storm, a tree branch fell on their enclosures, they escaped and were killed.

Luna and Remington are now safe and secure at Turpentine Creek thanks to PETA. Our rescue team went to Florida and with help from fellow Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance member Forest Animal Rescue by Peace River Refuge & Ranch we were able to load Luna and Remington and make the 18hour trip home.
